The Project Skills GCSE Proposal.

Research has shown that there is a fundamental skills gap between what we teach our children and young people and what will be expected of them in the workplace.

A course aimed at developing personal - life- employability skills for ALL 14-16-year-olds in secondary education, providing a bridge to enable individuals to better organise themselves, and to work with others from all walks of life. Genuine levelling-up. Smart citizens for a smart world.

​A smart world where employers will reap massive benefits if they shape themselves to receive these able and empowered new entrants. The Vision: each year 120,000 to 140,000 young people will gain valuable skills that will allow them to contribute to productively to society and succeed in their careers. And this number will keep growing.

We have assembled a team of over thirty talented and passionate experts from the Guild of Educators, Government (National Audit Office and Infrastructure & Projects Authority) and Industry to bring together decades of experience and insights.

The mission is to develop a robust and engaging framework which is easy to deliver, and compelling to learn, through a blend of traditional classroom learning, scenarios, and collaboration with other students and local businesses.

Projects are collaborative by nature, engaging people with diverse skills, from all walks of life, to work productively together to deliver a better future. Our team has researched, analysed and brought together a list of essential skills that will provide future generations with the skills and confidence to learn, grow and positively impact the people around them, no matter what they decide. to do with their lives.

1. Self-awareness & active listening – Understanding your own feelings and paying attention to others’ perspectives.

2. Identifying change & issues – Recognising when something needs to change and spotting problems early.

3. Identifying & analysing gaps – Figuring out what’s missing or needs improvement.

4. Defining project scope – Clearly setting goals and what needs to be done.

5. Understanding stakeholders – Knowing who is affected by the project and their needs.

6. Adapting to change – Learning how to adjust plans when things change.
